William Murphy, DVM
Dr. Murphy is a general practitioner and the hospital director of Veterinary Housecall Service of Rochester. He has cared for pets here for three years. Previously, Dr. Murphy established and directed Bayview Veterinary Hospital for six years; he also served as hospital director at Palmyra Animal Hospital for a short time.
Dr. Murphy grew up in Webster and currently resides in Penfield. As an undergraduate, he attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1979. He continued his veterinary education at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.
A member of the New York State Veterinary Medical Association and the Genesee Valley Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Murphy's professional interests include general medicine and surgical care. At home, he enjoys the companionship of two dogs, Chloe and Barkley (both Cavalier King Charles Spaniels) and a cat named Amigo.
Lynn Hoak, Hospital Manager
Lynn came on board with Monroe Veterinary Associates in May 2002 as a Client Service Representative at the Animal Emergency Service. After three years as support staff in the fast-paced environment of emergency medicine, she took a position in Administration. Helping Penfield Veterinary Hospital with the transition into the Monroe Veterinary Associates group in 2006, she stayed on as a Supervisor and then became Hospital Manager. In 2011, she made the switch to Veterinary Housecall Service of Rochester.
Her professional interests include client relations, veterinary economics, hospital growth, staff development and Practice Management.
Born and raised in Henrietta, the youngest of six siblings, she has one daughter, two dogs, two cats and a goldfish. Her personal interests are camping, hiking with her dogs, gardening, reading and spending time with her large family!
Chelsea Thompson, Client Service Representative
Chelsea joined the Housecalls team in 2005. She loves working with the friendly staff and enjoys helping clients and their pets each day.
Chelsea also works outside the hospital as a sign language interpreter. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, working on her house and spending time with her family and friends. Her family includes five dogs. Her three Shih-Tzus, Oliver, Tucker, and Venice, a French Bulldog named Paris, and a German Shepherd named Jenna provide her with lots of love and companionship.
Maureen Callahan, Animal Care Assistant
Maureen joined as a full-time animal care assistant in June 2010. She is a certified veterinary assistant. A Rochester native, Maureen has a Yorkie-poo dog named Bailey. During her free time she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
